After suffering from a severe case of the Glastonbury blues (I swear to you its a real thing), i'm now ready to enter back into the real world which doesn't involve surviving on a diet of pot noodles and beer with a side of three hours sleep. This was my 4th time visiting the festival and in typical fashion, it gets better every single year. From watching the sunrise at 5am whilst dancing at an outdoor silent disco to watching the mighty Mick Jagger and co' strut around on stage metres away from me, i'd have to go as far as to say: BEST GLASTONBURY YET.
Whilst each year I promise myself I will explore more of what the festival has to offer (I assure you it is impossible to take advantage of all of the festivals features in one trip), this year I was determined to peek around the sites circus and cabaret field and catch some music at the acoustic tent. This once again wasn't mean't to be as I was overtaken by my strict timetable of must-see musical acts. Catch my next post for a round up of all the bands/artists I caught over the weekend.
Its hard to describe my love for this particular festival in one mere blog post. I get fiercely over protective if I hear anyone bad mouthing what Glastonbury has to offer ("WHO WANTS TO SPEND A WEEK WITHOUT SHOWERING IN THE PISSING DOWN RAIN?" blah blah blah). Although I also face the battle of wanting to keep its extraordinary atmosphere and experience a secret, dreading the day that the whole world takes note and precedes to attempt to buy a ticket, resulting in myself - or friends - being left empty handed. Its a very selfish love, but thats exactly how Glastonbury makes you feel. The Eavis family have done a superb job of making this the festival for the people, and I plan on making sure i'm apart of the weird and wonderful world of Glastonbury for many years to come.
